Year 13 2016- How the final touches can make all the difference!
Before you submit it as a final project, have you done these few but key things...?
1. Is the PPF detailed and does it clearly explain how you define and measure key terms in the question?
2. Does the Log have evidence of measuring your progress against your original plan? Does it show evidence of challenges you faced and how you overcome them?
3. Do you have a clear and easy to follow numbering system to navigate the dissertation?
4. Have you used Harvard Referencing consistently?
5. Does your discussion consider all sources- including their weight- to come top your own conclusion?
6. Does the conclusion offer areas of further research and real-life implications?
7. Is your Bibliography diverse and un-biased?
8. Have you used page numbers and basic methods of organisation to aid understanding?

Welcome to the EPQ
What is the EPQ?The Extended Research Project is a University style Dissertation on on a topic of your choice.
You will have the opportunity to: Extend your knowledge and understanding of your chosen subject Develop key learning skills Gain UCAS points Enhance your UCAS application |

How will I be assessed?Details of the assessment criteria can be found on the specification, but you can use guidance page on the Essential Documents drop down menu to help you to gain the highest marks out of the total 54.
Breakdown: AO1: 9 (17%) AO2: 12 (22%) AO3: 24 (44%) AO4: 9 (17%) Your planning, project management, written dissertation and presentation skills will all be taken into account. |
Points to remember...You are expected to complete 120 guided learning hours.
30-40 of these will be lessons developing skills. You must update your activity log as regularly as possible. You will have one to one meetings with your supervisor the content of which you are expected to take the lead on. You will be entered for the June exam series. You will be expected to be organised- folder, dividers, diary etc. If you choose not to complete your project, UCAS will be informed if it has formed part of your application. |
