How to structure my report
Title Page
The Abstract
This is completed last and is a summary of the rest of the report
The Introduction:
Explanation of and rationale for the title.
Identify the controversial aspects of the title
Key term explanation
Relevant data sources which will be considered
Ideas which will be explored
What/how you will analyse
Lit Review
Outline Literature/theories which underlie the project
Key info/dates/ideas/people
Influences of this key info in real life
When outline the research briefly comment on the reliability (more detail at the end)
NOTE: this should not be a list of info from all sources, but instead thorough investigation of how the sources link to one another and the research question.
Discussion
Make an argument in relation to the question
Offer your point of view and identify arguments and evidence for and against
Discuss each argument fully identifying counter arguments to others and you own point and defend objections
NOTE: Some dissertations do not lend themselves to a Lit. Review/Discussion split but make more sense all together- this is not a problem
